History

Housewives in the City was launched in 2011 in the suburbs of Washington DC by our founder, Andrea Khoury. Our Northern Virginia Housewives blog grew to be one of the most popular lifestyle blogs in the area as Andrea catered to her target audience; real women in the cities where we live.  In 2014, HITC began to expand and we are now in 20+ cities nationwide and growing!

“Housewives” is just a catchy name to unify all our different communities nationwide. However, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A HOUSWIFE to participate in our events or networking groups. All women are welcome. We are proud to say our local group is very diverse with women from all backgrounds, ages, professions and relationship statuses.

Guides

Our digital guides serve as a trusted online resource for the Fort Lauderdale and South Florida community and readers to find the information they are looking for all in one place! Our guides cover a variety of topics targeted to local women. They are promoted on social media and updated every 12 months.

We’re always looking for ideas for new guides! If you want to advertise your business in one of our monthly guides or have an idea for a new one,  Please email mandy@housewivesinthecity.com

The SWFL Girls Night Out events are relaxed personal social networking experiences. Our goal is to provide a relaxed atmosphere for women of all walks of life to come and interact. We do not focus on any direct group of women which allows the new mom to have a night out and interact with the surgeon who needs a break after a long day.

The Coffee Meetups are weekday mornings alternating locations every other month between Narrative Coffee Roasters in Naples and Chocolattes in Fort Myers. A casual, small group meetup designed for connecting with local business women to help build connections and local referrals. Bring your business cards!

Bubbles & Biz is a Sunday morning social built around local women entrepreneurs who speak on various topics that are trending, informational and of interest to women in general. Includes brunch bites and “bubbles” (mimosas!

Are you looking for SWFL Vendor events? All of our attendees have a chance to speak to you without the pressure to keep moving or the overwhelming number of vendors in general. We keep it close and intimate with little pressure. We encourage our SWFL vendors to do a giveaway/raffle so they can get contact leads as well! In addition to the face to face interaction, the promotion of the local business carries over on our website and social media to help grow our local businesses digital presence.

We’re always looking for great venues and vendors to partner with. Please contact us if you’d like to partner for an upcoming event.
