We are excited to be featuring Youth Sail Virginia, Inc as our featured charity for June 24 at Bar Louie in Hampton. Youth Sail Virginia, Inc offers practice and regatta venue for area high school sailing teams from our location at historic Fort Monroe in Hampton, VA. With the support from the City of Hampton, a pier was built on Mill Creek for community access, with Youth Sailing Virginia at the heart of the boating center. Our plan is to expand by offering learn-to-sail programs in conjunction with the Peninsula YMCA and Hampton Parks and Recreation.

Located in the shallow waters of Mill Creek in Fort Monroe, Youth Sailing Virginia provides a safe area from other boat traffic for our children to practice and learn the fundamentals of sailing. This experience alone is one way your children will learn the importance of water skills off the land and in the water.
Youth Sail Virginia has for hosted regional and national championships including the fall of October 2015’s, MASSA Fall Fleet Race Regatta II that included two days of sailing with 18 teams from Virginia, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey in conjunction with SAIL Fort Monroe.  Most recently Youth Sail Virginia connected with Christopher Newport University and University of Virginia Sailing Teams during the spring semester. This allowed our sailors to experience college-level coaching while on the water!
